Dear Lord of Hosts:

  Long time no see?  In regards to that covenant we made in the days of my youth, there seems to have been some interesting developments since last we met.  Apparently the stupid fucking Romans burnt down the Temple where I was housing the Ark, which has subsequently disappeared, but since I was dead at that point in space and time there was not a whole lot I could do about it.  To further complicate matters your failed experiment of genetically enhanced neanderthals have created a pantheon of theological belief systems the majority of which are based on the worship of dead Deities whose will they claim to represent.

  But it is the rise to prominence of our old adversaries, the Devil and Satan, which I think you will find the most disconcerting of developments, as it appears the stupid humans have come to fear them more than either you or myself, and while I have given careful consideration to making a formal request of having you
come down here and show their leaders who is really calling the shots, I have decided that, as the British would so pompously and eloquently put it, that would not be very sporting of us now, would it?
